Install Wordpress on our servers using the web gallery. Step-By-Step

Installing wordpress on our servers is really fast and convenient, unfortunately Microsoft has shut down their web app gallery and is no longer available.

 

Please follow the below steps to do the wordpress installation.

HOW TO INSTALL WORDPRESS WITH THE  WEB APP GALLERY

  1. Login to the SolidCp control panel http://cp.yourowndomainname 

  2. Click on the web app gallery manager icon, and click install next to the wordpress from the list.
  3. Click "next".
  4. Select the website from the dropdown list, leave the application field blank.
  5. Leave the database type as mysql8.
  6. Leave as "create a new database"
  7. Enter a database name similar to your domain name ie "freds.co.za" use "freds", or "frdsdb", etc
  8. Enter a database username similar to your domain name
  9. Enter a strong password and confirm the password
  10. Click "Install"
  11. You should be presented with the installation completed page.
  12. Click on the "Launch Wordpress V6.2" or Go to the website URL ie. http://www.abc.co.za.
  13. All things fine you should see the "Run the installation" Screen, Select the language "english"click the "continue" button.
  14. Enter the Site Title




  15. Change the username for administrative functions away from admin ie "MOAdmin", or "john", etc (This will be your backend administrator)
  16. Enter a secure password, and confirm it, and enter an email address for this user,
  17. Click The "Install Word-press" button.
  18. Wordpress should now be installed.
  19. If you visit your site you will see the default install showing, you will now need to login via the administrative backend and design and finish your website.
  20. the backend is accessed by going to http://www.yourowndomain/wp-admin
