Huawei Phones POP Account setup

  1. Find "Email"
    1. Press Email.

  2. Create new email account
    1. Press Others.

  3. If an email account has been created already, do the following instead:
    1. Press Menu.
    2. Press Settings.
    3. Press Add account.
    4. Press Others.

  4. Enter email address
    1. Key in your full email address.

  5. Enter password
    1. Press Password and key in the password for your email account.
    2. Press Next.

  6. If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.

  7. Select server type
    1. Press POP3.

  8. Enter username
    1. Press the field below "Username" and key in email address for your account.

  9. Enter incoming server
    1. Press the field below "Server" and key in POP.yourowndomainname. (NB!! Replace yourowndomainname with your own domain)

  10. Enter incoming port
    1. Press the field below "Port" and key in 110

  11. Turn off encryption of incoming email messages
    1. Press Security type.
    2. Press None.

  12. Turn deletion of email messages on server on or off to your preference
    1. Press Delete email from server. or Selects do not Delete email from server
    2. Press When I delete from Inbox.
    3. Press Next.

  13. Enter outgoing server
    1. Press the field below "SMTP server" and key in smtp.yourowndominaname

  14. Enter outgoing port
    1. Press the field below "Port" and key in 590

  15. Turn off encryption of outgoing email messages
    1. Press Security type.
    2. Press None.

  16. Turn off SMTP authentication
    1. Press Require sign-in .
    2. Enter your email address and password in the correct fields
    3. Press Next.

  17. Select settings for retrieval of new email messages
    1. Press Sync frequency.
    2. Press the required period.

  18. Turn email message notification on or off
    1. Press Notify me when email arrives to turn the function on or off.

  19. Turn email message synchronisation on or off
    1. Press Sync email from this account to turn the function on or off.
    2. Press Next.

  20. Enter email account name
    1. Press the field below "Name this account (optional)" and key in the required name.

  21. Enter sender name
    1. Press the field below "Your name (displayed on outgoing messages)" and key in the required sender name.

  22. Finish setup
    1. Press Done.

  23. Return to the home screen
    1. Press the home icon to return to the home screen.
