DirectAdmin allows you to host multiple domain names under a single hosting account, depending on your hosting package.
This guide explains how to add an additional domain in DirectAdmin.
What Is an Additional Domain?
An additional domain allows you to host another website separately under the same hosting account.
Examples:
yourdomain.co.za
anotherdomain.co.za
Each domain can:
- display its own website
- have its own email accounts
- use its own SSL certificate
- run its own WordPress installation
Before You Start
Before adding a domain, make sure:
- Your hosting package supports multiple domains
- The domain name is registered
- The domain points to your HostworX hosting account
- You can log into DirectAdmin
If you have not logged in yet, please see:
- How to Log Into DirectAdmin
Important DNS Requirement
Before the domain will work correctly, the domain should point to the correct HostworX nameservers or hosting IP address.
DNS propagation may take time after updating nameservers.
How to Add an Additional Domain

Most users can leave the default settings.

Each domain will have its own website folder.
Common Uses for Additional Domains
Hosting Multiple Businesses
Useful for hosting:
- company websites
- client websites
- personal projects
under one hosting account.

- its own WordPress installation

Important Notes
SSL Certificates Must Be Enabled Per Domain
Each additional domain may require its own SSL certificate.
We recommend enabling Let’s Encrypt SSL for all domains.
DNS Changes May Take Time
New domains may not work immediately due to DNS propagation.
Hosting Package Limits May Apply
Some hosting accounts limit:
- number of domains
- disk space
- bandwidth usage
depending on package type.
