DirectAdmin allows you to create professional email addresses for your domain name, such as:
info@yourdomain.co.za
sales@yourdomain.co.za
This guide explains how to create a new email account using the DirectAdmin control panel.
Before You Start
Before creating an email account, make sure:
- Your domain is active on your hosting account
- You can log into DirectAdmin
- Your domain’s DNS is pointing to your HostworX hosting account

Recommended Email Setup
For business use, we recommend:
- IMAP for mobile phones and multiple devices
- POP for single desktop or laptop users
This helps provide the best email experience depending on how the mailbox is used.
How to Create an Email Account
Step 1 — Log Into DirectAdmin
Open your browser and log into DirectAdmin using: https://cp.yourdomain.co.za (Replace yourdomain.co.za with your own domain name)
Enter your username and password.
Step 2 — Open E-Mail Manager
From the DirectAdmin dashboard:
Click: E-Mail Manager
Then click: E-Mail Accounts
Step 3 — Click Create Account
Click the: + Create Account button.
Step 4 — Enter the Email Address
In the Username field, enter the name you would like for the email account.
Example: info
Your full email address will become: info@yourdomain.co.za
Step 5 — Create a Password
Enter a secure password for the mailbox.
We recommend:
- Using uppercase and lowercase letters
- Including numbers and symbols
- Avoiding easy-to-guess passwords
You can also use the password generator if available.
Step 6 — Set Mailbox Size
You can choose how much storage space the mailbox may use.
Examples:
- 500MB
- 1GB
- 5GB
Or select:
Unlimited
Please note hosting packages have limited storage available, if you select large mailbox sizes ensure your account supports the amount of storage you are allocating. Typically 500mb or 1Gb is sufficient per mailbox for POP accounts, as they only store email temporarily online while your email client isn't collecting the emails. IMAP on the other hand stores all inbound email and outbound emails and the mailbox grows exponentially fast.
Step 7 — Create the Mailbox
Click: Create Account
to finish creating the email address.
Your new email account is now active.
How to Access Your Email
You can access your email using:
Webmail
https://webmail.yourdomain.co.za (Replace yourdomain.co.za with your own domain name)
or
https://yourdomain.co.za/roundcube

- Apple Mail

Troubleshooting
Cannot Create the Mailbox
Possible reasons include:
- Mailbox limit reached
- Disk space full
- Invalid mailbox name
- Domain not active
If the problem continues, contact HostworX support.
Email Cannot Send or Receive
Check:
- Mail server settings
- Password correctness
- DNS propagation
- Internet connection
Authentication Failed
Re-enter the email password carefully.
Remember:
the username is usually the full email address.

- Use strong passwords
- Do not share mailbox passwords
- Update passwords regularly
- Remove unused email accounts
